A trip in Europe, particularly in Italy, isn't complete without a day or two in the Mediterranean's capital for romance, Venice. This city of roughly half a million souls is in northern Italy and is often referred to as the City of Bridges or the City of Canals, thanks to the waterways and bridges that crisscross the city that double as a travel network. To make a romantic getaway in Venice more, well, romantic there are quite a number of tips available.
Without going into details, here are some tips from Paul Bowers, a writer for website and blog Mio Destino, that appear on a travel directory: First, he recommends taking a vaporetto, Venice's version of the street bus, instead of a gondola, which he says is "a real rip-off." A vaporetto ride might not elicit a romantic thought in your mind, but it is more cost effective and enjoyable. For romantic accommodations, he recommends the Locanda Orseolo, which he says is "intimate" and a "charming place to stay."

With economies in turmoil all over the globe, it's getting harder and harder to schedule holidays with family or friends, especially with tight budgets. Good thing the travel industry is owning up to the responsibility of keeping with the times by giving their clients dozens of options for travel that are easy on the budget. One such company is easyJet, touted to be the United Kingdom's largest airline.
"An overhaul of the holiday market has been a long time coming. Consumers want more value for their money and more freedom when arranging their holidays. We are confident that the combination of flexibility, exceptional value and choice, together with a state-of-the-art website and call center, will ensure easyJet Holidays becomes a leading brand in the holiday market within three years," said Carolyn McCall, chief executive officer at easyJet, in a press statement announcing the launch of the brand.
So what can consumers expect from easyJet Holidays? For starters, you can book together with friends and family at the lowest prices available. This easily translates to savings for other highlights of your planned holiday. The company also guarantees 100-percent protection with International Passenger Protection when you book a holiday through its website. Last on the list, but certainly not the least, is the fact that you can book with over 10,000 hotels in over 100 destinations in Europe, North Africa or the Middle East. Now that's something most airlines might not be able to offer.
